    Gastroenterology

    Studies related to gastrointestinal organs and related diseases, including the digestive tract, liver, and the pancreas. Examples of these studies include: Constipation, Crohn’s Disease, Diarrhea, Gall-bladder Disease, Heartburn, Hemorrhoids, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Ulcers, and various other conditions.

    Bowel Preparation

    A study to evaluate the efficacy of a potential study drug for bowel preparation prior to a scheduled colonoscopy.

    • Must be 45-75 yrs. of age
    • Patient must have a colonoscopy scheduled by their doctor prior to study acceptance. The colonoscopy is to be paid by patient’s personal insurance.

    Dermatology / Wound Care

    Studies that involve skin disorders and the reconstruction or replacement of deformed, damaged, or lost parts of the body. Examples of these studies include: Acne, Congenital Skin Diseases, Genital Herpes, Genital Warts, Psoriasis, Skin Wounds, Athlete’s Foot, Venous Leg Ulcers, and various other skin conditions.

    Venous Leg Ulcer

    This study will test the safety and efficacy of the study drug compared to placebo in individuals with diagnosed venous leg ulcer.

    Treatment consists of a potential controlled substance or placebo placed directly on the ulcer to aid in the healing process.

    Individuals will receive additional compression wrap and wound care during each visit. Visits have an average length of one to two hours in length.

    Each participant will be compensated for their time and travel and will be provided with the potential study drug or placebo at no additional cost

    • Ages 18 and above
    • Must have a Venous Leg Ulcer between the knee and ankle
    • Women must no longer be of child bearing potential/or using an effective method of birth control

    Pulmonary / Respiratory Diseases

    Studies related to the lungs and/or breathing diseases. Examples of these studies include:  Asthma, Bronchitis, Emphysema, Pneumonia, COPD, Smoking Cessation, and various other conditions.

    Asthma

    This study investigates the potential use of an investigational study product compared to placebo to treat and/or prevent symptoms of asthma in adult patients.

    We will test the safety and efficacy of an inhaled investigational study product in participants with adult asthma.

    The initial visit length is estimated to be completed within two to three hours. Follow up visits will continue for up to 56 weeks via telephone and in person.

    Each participant will be compensated for their time and travel and provided with the potential study drug, or placebo at no additional cost.

    • Male and Female Participants ages 18- 70 years of age.
    • Participants must weigh 88 lbs or above
    • Each participant must have a previous history of physician diagnosed asthma requiring treatment with medium to high dose inhaled corticosteroids and long-acting beta-adrenoceptor agonists for at least 12 months prior to first visit.
    • Women must no longer be of child bearing potential/or must be using an effective method of birth control.

    COPD Study – Potential Nebulized Medication

    This study investigates the potential use of an investigational study product compared to placebo to treat and/or prevent symptoms of COPD in adult patients.

    We will test the safety and efficacy of a nebulized long acting bronchodilator versus placebo while monitoring any additional occurrences of worsening COPD exacerbations over the course of a year.

    The initial visit length is estimated to be completed within two hours. Follow up visits will continue for up to one year via telephone and in person.

    Each participant will be compensated for their time and travel and provided with the potential study drug, or placebo at no additional cost.

    • Ages 40 years and above
    • Respiratory status clinically stable
    • Experienced at least one COPD exacerbation within the last year
    • Current or prior history of 10 pack years of cigarette smoking
    • Women must no longer be of child bearing potential/or using an effective method of birth control

    Cardiology / Vascular Disease Studies

    Studies that involve structure and function of the heart and blood vessels and various other additional cardiac events. Examples of these studies include: Heart Failure, Coronary Artery Disease, High Cholesterol, Blood Clots, Circulation Disorders, and Type 2 Diabetes at risk of myocardial events, and various other cardiac diseases.

    LDL Cholesterol

    This study investigates the potential use of an investigational study product in participants with hyperlipidemia or mild dyslipidemia at high risk for cardiovascular events.

    We will test the safety and efficacy of the investigational study product compared to a placebo in individuals with high or very high risk of cardiovascular events with hyperlipidemia or mild dyslipidemia.

    The initial visit length is estimated to be completed within one-two hours. Follow up visits will continue for up to 88 weeks via telephone and in person.

     

    Each participant will be compensated for their time and travel and provided with the potential study drug, or placebo at no additional cost.

    • Male and Female Participants ages 18 years and above.
    • Participants must have primary hyperlipidemia or mixed dyslipedemia
    • Participants are required to be treated with atorvastatin, simvastatin, or rosuvastatin.
    • Known high risk of incurring cardiovascular events based on evidential history of Coronary heart disease; history of myocardial infarction; or coronary surgeries; Type 1 or 2 diabetes; or chronic kidney disease…
    • All male and females of childbearing potential must be using adequate methods of contraception.

    Ophthalmology

    Studies related to the eye and eye diseases. Examples of these studies include: Cataracts, Eye Infections, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Near-Sighted Corrective Surgery, and various other conditions.

    Cataract Stent Placement

    This study investigates the potential use of a potential study product compared to placebo in conjunction with cataract surgery.

     

    Visits may take up to one hour of time and follow-up care. Follow-up visits will continue via telephone or in person for up 5 years.

     

    Each participant will be compensated for their time and travel and provided with the potential study drug, or placebo at no additional cost.

    • Participants must have mild to moderate primary open-angle glaucoma.
    • Participants must be 22 years of age or above.
    • Availability to attend follow-up exams for up to 5 years post procedure.
    • Participants must have cataract surgery already scheduled prior to first visit.

    Nutrition and Weight Loss
    Field related to the metabolic and physiological responses of the body to diet and nutrition. This includes diseases related to excesses or deficiencies in the diet. Nutritional diseases also include developmental abnormalities that can be prevented by diet, hereditary metabolic disorders that respond to dietary treatment, the interaction of foods and nutrients with drugs, food allergies and intolerances, and potential hazards in the food supply.

    Women Studies/OBGYN
    Studies related to the care of the women’s reproductive system in general and conditions related to the menstrual cycle. Examples of these studies include: Contraception, Hormone-Replacement Therapy, Menopause, Menstrual Disorders, Ovarian Cysts, PMS, Yeast Infections, and various other conditions.

    Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, Throat)
    Also known as ENT (ears, nose, and throat), these are studies of involving the ears and the larynx (organ that helps produce vocal sounds and serves as an air passageway, located in the neck/throat). Examples of these studies include: Allergy, Ear Infections, Rhinitis, Sinus Infections, Strep Throat, and various other conditions.
